Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> is slipping into Ginger Rogers\u2019 shoes for a new biopic. The Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/em><\/a> singer has been tapped (pun very much intended) to play the silver screen legend in a still-untitled Paul King film about Fred Astaire, Deadline<\/em><\/a> reports. Tom Holland will star as the Old Hollywood triple-threat, while Margaret Qualley will play the performer\u2019s older sister, Adele, one of Astaire\u2019s earliest dance partners and a star on Broadway and London\u2019s West End in her own right.<\/p>\n \u201cFred left a timeless legacy of dance on film, most famously in his collaborations with Ginger Rogers, while Adele\u2019s work has been lost to history; indeed, no footage of her dancing survives,\u201d King shared in a statement. \u201dThe cinematic challenge of bringing to life these icons of the 20th century is one that I could not imagine without Tom Holland, Margaret Qualley and Sabrina Carpenter by my side.\u201d<\/p>\n The casting announcement caps off an already-stacked year for Carpenter, who has performed<\/a> at the Grammys<\/a>, headlined Coachella<\/a>, and collaborated<\/a> with Madonna<\/a> over the past few months.
