The concerts were designed as a way to celebrate the band\u2019s incredible catalog of music and lasting legacy within rock. \u201cThis is for the people,\u201d Hagar said at the tour\u2019s launch. \u201cThis is the &#8216;thank you&#8217; tour, for all of the fans who followed us for all of those years and have been waiting 20 years for some other kind of a reunion &#8212; my era, anyway, for sure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What began as a nationwide tour then transitioned into a series of residencies in Las Vegas. Along the entire run, Hagar stayed true to his goal \u2013 presenting classic tunes from his era with Van Halen, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/david-lee-roth\">David Lee Roth<\/a> years, while also mixing in material from other parts of his impressive career.<\/p>\n<h3>What Did Sammy Hagar Play in His Final \u2018Best of All Worlds\u2019 Show?<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;All good things must come to an end,&#8221; Hagar wrote to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DdxAx3xEh1O\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\">social media<\/a> shortly before the performance, adding that this run included &#8220;some of the best and most fun shows ever.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Considering this was his Best of All Worlds finale, Hagar opened the show with his appropriately-titled &#8220;Encore, Thank You, Goodnight.&#8221; From there, he launched into a pair of Van Halen tunes &#8212;\u00a0 &#8220;Why Can&#8217;t This Be Love&#8221; (from 1986&#8217;s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/van-halen-5150\/\">5150<\/a><\/em>), followed by &#8220;Top of the World&#8221; (off of 1991&#8217;s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/van-halen-for-unlawful-carnal-knowledge\/\">For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge<\/a><\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights from the night included such Van Halen classics a Right Now&#8221; and &#8220;Panama.&#8221;\u00a0The Red Rocker also mixed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/montrose\/\">Montrose<\/a> tune &#8220;Bad Motor Scooter,&#8221; and his beloved solo hit &#8220;I Can&#8217;t Drive 55.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/sammy-hagar-van-halen-songs-left-out\/\">What Songs Has Sammy Hagar Left Out of His Van Halen-Focused Shows?<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the closing song &#8220;Eagles Fly,&#8221; Hagar joined his bandmates <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/michael-anthony\/\">Michael Anthony<\/a>, guitarist <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/joe-satriani\">Joe Satriani<\/a> and drummer <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/kenny-aronoff\/\">Kenny Aronoff<\/a> for a triumphant last bow.\u00a0The full set list from\u00a0the closing Best of All Worlds show can be found below.<\/p>\n<h3>What Will Sammy Hagar Do Next?<\/h3>\n<p>After spending two years focusing on Van Halen material, Hagar says he\u2019s ready to dive deeper into his solo work.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m kinda done with being the Van Halen guy,&#8221; the Red Rocker <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/sammy-hagar-no-more-van-halen-concerts\/\">recently admitted to radio host Eddie Trunk<\/a>, while also conceding he\u2019ll &#8220;always keep some of it\u201d in his sets.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve got so much Montrose, those are great songs and fun stuff, I&#8217;ve got fans that have been following me since then,\u201d he continued. \u201cYou know, the red album [1977&#8217;s Sammy Hagar], the red rocker era, pre-Van Halen, the Geffen years. &#8230;I want to do so many things, I don&#8217;t want to just go out there and just do Van Halen. But Mike and I are kind of obligated.
