\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div> \t\t\t\t\tA painting by Joan Baez<\/span><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHousing Works<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n\tLast year\u2019s inaugural \u201cTurn It Up!\u201d auction, which was initially the idea of music publicist Melissa Nastasi, featured donations by the likes of Patti Smith, Eddie Vedder, and Paul McCartney, and raised more than $25,000 for Housing Works.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n \n\t\u201cThe auction is a natural fit for the organization,\u201d says music journalist Alan Light (a former Rolling Stone<\/em> senior writer), who has served on the board of the Housing Works Bookstore in SoHo for more than 20 years. \u201cWe\u2019ve done hundreds of concerts in our bookstore, presenting artists like John Mellencamp, Bj\u00f6rk, John Mayer, and Chrissie Hynde. We were even the location for the final scene of Taylor Swift\u2019s \u2018All Too Well\u2019 video! The community of musicians has been a great asset in raising money for the essential efforts of Housing Works.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe link to bid on the \u201cTurn It Up!\u201d items is here<\/a>.
