Lady Gaga<\/a>, Jack White<\/a>, Blondie<\/a>\u2019s Debbie Harry and Chris Stein, and other artists have been nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame\u2019s Class of 2027. As is tradition, the nominees are divided into two categories for performing and non-performing songwriters, with three inductees selected from each to be inducted. Voting concludes on December 14, with the final honorees being announced early next year.<\/p>\n Shakira, P!nk, Sia, and ZZ Top\u2019s Frank Beard are also part of the performing songwriters group. Rounding out that batch of nominees are Dusty Hill, America\u2019s Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, Boy George, Ne-Yo, Billy Gibbons, Vince Gill, Grandmaster Melle Mel, and members of War.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the non-performing songwriters category features Kandi Burruss, who wrote TLC\u2019s \u201cNo Scrubs\u201d and Destiny\u2019s Child\u2019s \u201cBills, Bills, Bills\u201d; Pete Bellotte, who penned Donna Summer\u2019s \u201cHot Stuff\u201d and \u201cI Feel Love\u201d; Stargate, the production duo behind Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cIrreplaceable\u201d and Rihanna\u2019s \u201cDiamonds\u201d; Boy Meets Girl, who wrote Whitney Houston\u2019s \u201cI Wanna Dance With Somebody\u201d and \u201cHow Will I Know\u201d; Dan Wilson, whose enduring hits include Semisonic\u2019s \u201cClosing Time\u201d and Adele\u2019s \u201cSomeone Like You\u201d; Andreas Carlsson, who co-wrote Backstreet Boys\u2019 \u201cI Want It That Way\u201d and *NSYNC\u2019s \u201cBye Bye Bye\u201d; and Stock Aitken Waterman, who the internet can thank for Rick Astley\u2019s \u201cNever Gonna Give You Up.\u201d<\/p>\n At the start of 2026, the Songwriters Hall of Fame inducted<\/a> Taylor Swift (who was inexplicably introduced by Steven Spielberg), Alanis Morissette, Kenny Logins, KISS\u2019s Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Tricky Stewart, and more.<\/p>\n
