\n\tNile Rodgers<\/a> recently shared a snippet of his upcoming video for a new version of \u201cThe Christmas Song,\u201d his 2020 charity collaboration with Rebecca Ferguson, proudly revealing it used AI, which fans took issue with. On Thursday, he defended his use of the technology.<\/p>\n \n\tEarlier this week, he shared an \u201cAI capture\u201d of the project. \u201c#working<\/a> on a #great<\/a> #art<\/a> project that\u2019s next #level<\/a>. This is the start of the process. This AI capture was very thorough and I\u2019m so excited about the finished project,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWhen I saw the Eagles at The Sphere in Vegas I envisioned stories with incredible environments & music. It\u2019s future time!\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tShortly afterward, however, people began commenting on their disappointment with him using AI. One person wrote in the IG comments, \u201cThere\u2019s better way to preserve your legacy.\u201d Rodgers responded, \u201cWait to you see it before you make judgement. You\u2019re imagining the worst instead of imagining the best.\u201d The person responded back: \u201cI don\u2019t have to imagine my friend, look what AI has done to art in general yet alone music. Promoting it in such a big way is not the way to go.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tOn Wednesday, Rodgers shared photo stills from the project, and the backlash continued. \u201cWe need happiness and healing in our world,\u201d he captioned the carousel. \u201cWhen I had my 1st bought of #cancer<\/a> it was a child who coached me and gave me #courage<\/a> to fight. I know a lot of children who are bedridden and ill. Their main form of entertainment is the iPad or other such devices. I produced \u2018The Christmas Song\u2019 to give them a little #joy<\/a> during the holiday season.\u201d<\/p>\n
