In 2022, the band began recording with him in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cWe rented this house up on the top of a mountain and set the band up outside,\u201d Rubin said on Joe Rogan\u2019s podcast that October. \u201cSo they\u2019re playing\u2026 It\u2019s like they\u2019re doing a concert for the ocean, on the top of a mountain. It was incredible. And we did that every day, playing out in the [open], and they didn\u2019t want to leave. In a couple weeks, they\u2019ll be in Mexico and South America, before visiting Australia in February. The band\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/product-recommendations\/tickets\/the-strokes-reality-awaits-2026-tour-buy-tickets-1235550889\/\">next scheduled<\/a> U.S. dates are the Innings Festival in Arizona, also in February, and Salt Lake City\u2019s Kilby Block Party in May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tGuitarist Nick Valensi, who took <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-strokes-guitarist-nick-valensi-temporary-break-tour-1235563538\/\">a temporary break<\/a> from the summer part of the tour and was replaced by Steve Schiltz of Longwave, was not on stage Saturday.
