One of the Biggest Weekends of College Football Is Here!

Last week, college football gave us a Saturday filled with late-night upsets and goalposts on Broadway.

This weekend has a lot to live up to, but this is one of those weekends where the ‘honey-do’ list gets put on hold, as college football takes center-stage with numerous games having playoff implications.

First up is one of the biggest games of the year so far: Second-ranked Ohio State heads west to take on new BigTen member Oregon. The third-ranked Ducks will have Autzen stadium rocking, and this could be the biggest regular season game in Oregon history.

Can Ohio State keep their high-powered offense on the field against the Ducks athletic front? It should be one of the best games of the season so far. This matchup between 2 and 3 will go down on NBC with kickoff set for 7:30PM Eastern on Saturday (Oct. 12).

Earlier in the day, one of college football’s best rivalries takes place at the Texas State Fair as the Longhorns of Texas meet up with the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry. This is the first time that these two teams have met as SEC foes, and the Longhorns roll into this one healthy. QB Quinn Ewers is back under center for Texas after missing time with an abdominal injury. Oklahoma, on the other hand, is rolling with freshman QB Michael Hawkins Jr, who has given the Sooners some life on offense. This one kicks off on ABC at 3:30PM.

Lastly but surely not least, we have 9th ranked Ole Miss going to Death Valley to face off against 13th ranked LSU in a very important matchup between two teams looking to avoid an early second loss. Ole Miss and their nasty front four will look to slow down a LSU offense that has has seemingly turned a corner since their season opening loss against USC. But anyone who has played LSU, at LSU, at night, knows that is one of the toughest places to go get a win. Kickoff on ABC is set for 7:30PM.

Make sure you have the snacks ready to go and fresh batteries in the remote, because Saturday is going to be a great day for college football.
