Megan Thee Stallion Wants Tory Lanez Held in Contept for Court Behavior

The rapper was allegedly “disruptive” and requested the definition of basic words during a deposition

Megan Thee Stallion‘s attorneys want Tory Lanez held in contempt of court. In Wednesday’s filing, the Houston rapper’s attorney filed a motion to hold Lanez in contempt for being “disruptive” during a deposition, according to Billboard.

Megan’s lawyers claimed that Lanez’s behavior led to his deposition being canceled after he “feigned ignorance regarding the definition of basic words” and harassed Megan’s attorney. According to the attorney, he “pretended that the video equipment was not working despite prison staff confirming it was functioning properly.”

“Mr. Peterson made a mockery of the proceedings,” Megan’s attorneys wrote. “Nothing short of a contempt finding and meaningful sanctions will deter Mr. Peterson from continuing to abuse the process.”

The attorneys claimed that Lanez requested definitions for basic words, including “meet.”

“It could mean a lot of things. I mean meat could be a hot dog; meat could be a steak; meat could be red meat. It could be a lot of things,” Lanez said, according to a transcript provided by Megan’s attorneys. “You know what I’m saying? You could watch porno. Meat – meat is a whole different thing over there. ‘Meet’ can be anything. I’m asking you what is your definition of ‘meet.’”

The judge gave Lanez until April 30 to explain why he should not be held in contempt of court for “violating the court’s order authorizing his deposition.”

In late February, a federal judge signed off on an order to allow Megan’s team to conduct a remote deposition of Lanez. The deposition would be part of Megan’s ongoing defamation and cyberstalking lawsuit against Milagro Gramz, the YouTube blogger who supported Lanez during his trial and has been accused of spreading “vicious and hateful rumors” about Megan Thee Stallion as Lanez’s “paid surrogate.” Lanez is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan in both feet during an alcohol-fueled curbside confrontation in the summer of 2020.
