Charli XCX Will Host and Perform in November

The musician will helm the November 16 episode of the sketch comedy series

Charli XCX is really committing to proving the “360” lyric “I’m everywhere, I’m so Julia” to be the truest statement she’s ever made. She was everywhere on tour, including a sold-out stop at Madison Square Garden. She also played a DJ set in front of an art installation for her remix album at Storm King Art Center in Orange County, New York. And on Nov. 16, the singer and songwriter will bring her Brat agenda to 30 Rock as she doubles as both host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

Brat made it to the latest season of Saturday Night Live before Charli even could. In late September, cast member Bowen Yang cosplayed as the musician in a “Charli XCX Talk Show” skit. “I think SNL is iconic,” Charli said in response earlier this month. “Troye [Sivan] and I, we had an inkling it was coming and so we were very excited about it.”

She added: “I love Bowen and I honestly think he did a great job,” she said on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM channel. “I was very impressed with the hair texture, actually. I thought it was a really good wig. It was good, it was cool.”

Trending Stories

Charli last took the SNL stage as a musical guest in March 2022, when she performed “Beg for You” and “Baby” from Crash. It was her second appearance after making her debut in December 2014 with “Boom Clap” and “Break the Rules.” Needless to say, she’s lived many 365 party girl lives since then. The upcoming appearance will mark her first hosting stint on the sketch comedy series.

Last night, Charli was honored at the Wall Street Journal Magazine’s Innovator Awards. “I wrote an album about myself, and about my friends, and about parting, and about all of my problems,” she said at the event. “I wasn’t sure if anyone would connect with it, [but] the pendulum of culture swung in favor of messiness.”
