Silvana Estrada Announces Album ‘Vendrán Suaves Lluvias’

Silvana Estrada focused on introspection over the last few years as she made her newest album. On Wednesday, the musician announced that she’ll release her self-produced sophomore album, Vendrán Suaves Lluvias, on Oct. 17. She also previewed the project with the orchestral single, “Dime.”

Vendrán Suaves Lluvias is the album I’ve been working on for the past two or three years,” Estrada said in a press release. “The songs were born little by little, some since the pandemic, others more recently. It encompasses my search to find myself and my vital energy. This project was born from trying to turn discomfort into hope, from not stopping to see the light despite the rage.”

Estrada wrote the new project, whose title translates to Soft Rain Will Come, after facing “creative and emotional roadblocks,” a traumatic injury, and the murder of a close friend. As she dealt with those tribulations, the singer stepped away from music to prioritize her well-being before ultimately reconnecting with her intuition. She wrote the album in Montréal, Barcelona, and Mexico City.

“When I found that space again, it became clear that I was the only person who could produce this album,” Estrada said of the record. “The entire experience was like a rebirth, where I made it through so much loss and pain and then came out the other side with a new understanding of how to face reality with grace and hope.”

Thursday’s new single also featured orchestral arrangements by Owen Pallett, whiel the rest of the record features arrangements from Roberto Verástegui. The album follows her previously released tracks “Lila Alelí” and “Cómo un Pájaro.” The album marks her first album since 2022’s Marchita, which featured “Carta” and “Ser de Ti.”

“The freedom to choose the sounds I wanted initially terrified me, it seemed like an immense and impossible place to begin,” Estrada said. “But when I allowed myself to listen attentively to my instincts and embraced that freedom, a sincere and transparent world slowly began to form. This album is filled with learning, with love, and with the beauty of being human, even in our hardest moments.”
