Fans have been speculating whether former Reba star JoAnna Garcia Swisher might make an appearance on Reba McEntire‘s new sitcom, Happy’s Place, and in a new interview, she reveals whether she’s on board with it or not.
Will Joanna Garcia Swisher Appear on Happy’s Place?
“No doubt,” the 46-year-old actor tells Parade in an exclusive interview.
“If they were to ask me to do it, I would 100 percent be there and I would move mountains to do it.”
The performer — who played Cheyenne on Reba and currently stars as Maddie Townsend in Sweet Magnolias — adds, “Obviously they’re making a television show,” so any appearance she might make would have to “work for the story and all of those moments.”
What Is Happy’s Place?
Happy’s Place is a sitcom that premiered in late 2024. It stars Reba McEntire and her real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn.
Much of the same creative team behind Reba is involved in Happy’s Place.

In addition to McEntire and Linn, Happy’s Place stars Melissa Peterman, who played Barbra Jean on Reba.

Yes. Happy’s Place Season 2 is slated to premiere on NBC on Nov. 7.
Is Joanna Garcia Swisher Still on Sweet Magnolias?
Yes. Swisher has played Maddie Townsend on Sweet Magnolias since the show debuted in May of 2020.
Netflix has renewed the show for Season 5, and Swisher is expected to return in her starring role.
Is There Any Chance Reba McEntire Will Appear on Sweet Magnolias?
Yes, but it’s not clear how or when.
“We have tried to get Reba on,” Swisher tells Parade.
“I always am trying to work with everyone from Reba because I love them so much. But Happy’s Place and The Voice keeps her very busy,” she adds.
“It didn’t work out scheduling for last season [of Sweet Magnolias]. And this season, we didn’t have a moment for that.”
If Sweet Magnolias extends into Season 6, Swisher is still hopeful that the show might accommodate a guest appearance from McEntire.
