Earl Sweatshirt has announced that his new album Live Laugh Love is set to be released this Friday (August 22).
Last week, Earl hosted a surprise listening party in Los Angeles but did not appear himself, instead sending a stand-in to perform his songs.
The listening party also featured previously unheard songs leading to speculation of a new album which has now been made official.
The former Odd Future rapper then confirmed that the album would be released on August 22 but has since deleted the social media post revealing Live Laugh Love.
It has been speculated that the album will feature appearances from the likes of Donald Glover, The Alchemist, Vince Staples as well as comedian Dave Chappelle and The Walking Dead star Steven Yuen.
Earl Sweatshirt has been very quiet as of late but did perform at a Gaza benefit concert last year in London alongside the likes of Yasiin Bey, Blood Orange and Daniel Caesar.
He also reunited with Tyler, The Creator at Coachella.
During Tyler’s headlining set at the second weekend of the festival last year, the Odd Future founder surprised fans with an appearance from Earl, who joined him on stage for a couple of songs.
The pair performed “AssMilk” from Tyler’s 2009 album Bastard, marking the first time the song has been performed since 2014.
They also joined forces for a performance of “Rusty” from Tyler’s 2013 album Wolf.
Their bromance was on full display as the longtime friends shared a hug and some kind words before Earl departed the stage.
“Earl muthafucking Sweatshirt!” Tyler yelled into the mic. “My muthafucking brother. I love this guy so fucking much.”
Earl returned the favor by saying: “Tyler, The fucking Creator, man. Look at the biggest show on Earth.”
Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creator previously linked up in 2023 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Earl’s debut album Doris.
In August, the former Odd Future groupmates reconnected on stage at the Novo in Los Angeles as Tyler joined Earl to perform their 2013 collaboration “Whoa.”
The pair also hugged it out on stage and posed for pictures while showing love to their former collective.
