Doechii has announced that she has abruptly pulled out of all festival appearances on short notice.
The TDE rapper was scheduled to perform at London’s All Points East festival this Saturday (August 23) but the event announced she would no longer be attending.
They said in a statement: “Unfortunately, Doechii will no longer be able to perform at All Points East on Saturday August 23. We’d like to apologise to any disappointed fans and hope to welcome Doechii to All Points East in the future.”
Shortly afterwards, statements followed from Forwards Bristol in the UK and Rock En Seine in Paris, France that Doechii had cancelled her performance.
None of the festivals provided a reason why Doechii would no longer be performing.
Despite the cancellations, Doechii is still set to go on her Live From the Swamp tour this October.
The rapper herself has not revealed a reason for the late cancellations.
Earlier this year, the “Anxiety” rapper called out Donald Trump for his immigration raids across Los Angeles.
Taking to the stage to accept her award at the BET Awards, the TDE rapper turned her speech into a fierce critique of Trump while protesters face off against ICE agents in Los Angeles.
She said: “There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order.”
The “Anxiety” rapper continued: “Trump is using military forces to stop a protest. I want you all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that?”
She added: “People are being swept up and torn from their families. I feel like it’s my responsibility as an artist to use this moment to speak up for all oppressed people … We all deserve to live in hope and not fear. I hope we stand together.”
A number of other high profile Hip Hop figures have also called out Trump and ICE for his government’s attacks on immigrant communities including Ice Cube, The Game and Cardi B.
