Hank Williams Jr. has shared that he’s too sick to play a pair of shows scheduled in Oklahoma this weekend.
The Country Music Hall of Famer took to social media with a statement announcing dates in Tulsa and Thackerville will be pushed back one month. All tickets will be honored at the new date.
What’s Wrong With Hank Williams Jr.?
In announcing the rescheduled concerts, Williams did not elaborate on what’s got him down.
The singer does not have a history of illness or missing shows, although a July 11 concert in Milwaukee was canceled on account of thunderstorms.
Other than the now postponed shows, he only has one other date on his official tour calendar. On Aug. 27, he’ll play the Minnesota State Fair.
“We’re so sorry to share that due to illness, Hank Williams Jr. will be unable to perform the shows scheduled for this weekend in Tulsa and Thackerville, OK,” his note reads. He then details makeup dates.
The show scheduled for Friday (Aug. 22) at Tulsa’s BOK Center will now take place on Sept. 19.
Hank Jr.’s show scheduled for Aug. 23 in Thackerville will now happen on Sept. 20.
Response to the note was largely supportive. Most people wished him well or sent a prayer his way.
