Dasha Embraces ‘No Pressure, No Plan’ Love ion ‘Like It Like That’

“At this point in my life, I’m not trying to have it all figured out—sometimes the so-called wrong person is exactly right for right now,” says Dasha

Dasha thinks a little toxic love is just what’s needed sometimes. On Friday, the California country star released the video for her newest single, “Like It Like That,” in which she plays out a not-so-perfect, motel-hosted love affair with Love Island USA‘s Rob Rausch.

“‘Like It Like That’ is about letting go of that pressure to get love ‘right’ and embracing the moments that don’t fit the plan,” she said in a press release about the track. “At this point in my life, I’m not trying to have it all figured out—sometimes the so-called wrong person is exactly right for right now.”

The video sees Dasha singing to the country-pop track from inside a shitty motel room, shaving her legs, and prepping for Rob’s arrival. “I like it like that, there must be something that’s bringing me right back,” Dasha sings on the catchy chorus. The video unfolds as the couple spends multiple nights together, with her singing the track’s lyrics into Rob’s face as their affair progresses.

“I think there’s so much pressure to meet ‘the one’ and get it right on the first try, especially for women, but I’m 25. I’m not looking for perfection, I’m looking for good stories and chasing feelings that I can get songs out of,” explained Dasha. “I have no idea what I’m doing half the time, and I’m still learning parts of myself…I think everyone my age is doing the same. I don’t want to meet my person yet; I’m not ready for that chapter of life yet.”

She added, “No pressure, no plan, just whatever makes your heart skip a couple of beats and reminds you that that’s what living is supposed to feel like sometimes. Letting things be what they are, and heck, maybe that’s smoking a cigarette with a man who can only be a bad idea at 2 am.”

The flirty new song follows the more emotional “Oh, Anna!” she released earlier this summer. She also released the country hit “Not At This Party” back in February, following the massive success of “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’).”
