What Is Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl’s New Movie?
Duffy, 76, and Purl, 69, star together in a new action thrilled titled Hollywood Grit.
They appeared together on the red-carpet premiere for the film in Los Angeles on Thursday (Aug. 21), and the couple shared some insight into how they manage their private life and work time.
How Do Patrick Duffy + Linda Purl Balance Romance + Work?
“It sounds so cliche, but our life is very romantic, everything that we do has that overtone,” Duffy tells the Daily Mail. “It’s an I-love-you-relationship.
“So if she’s working and I’m not there, yes, I send flowers to the dressing room. If we’re working together, I guess it’s arrogance, but I consider each of us our own flowers for each other.”
Purl admits it was an adjustment when they first worked together on The Bold and the Beautiful.
“It was pretty odd the first time we were working together. We finished a scene, and I felt a pat on my derriere… on set! Then I hear, ‘Nice job honey,'” she shares.
“I was like, ‘Huh? Oh! Ok!'” she adds, causing Duffy to interject, “It’s legal!” as they both burst out laughing.
When Did Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl Get Together?
The Dallas and Step by Step star was married to his wife, ballet dancer Carlyn Rosser, from 1974 until her death in 2017 from cancer.
He and Purl had been acquaintances for 45 years when they ran into each other right before the COVID pandemic began in 2020, and they ended up in a group text chain that ultimately turned into just the two of them texting.
That turned into them talking over Zoom for “for two or three hours” each night “for a couple of months,” Purl said in an interview with The Jason Show.
“At some point, it was like, ‘Oh, this might be something more than a swell friendship,'” she said. “And he jumped in his Prius, and he drove from his house in Oregon to mine in Colorado. And that was that.”

She returned to the show from 1982-1983 in the featured role of Fonzie’s girlfriend, Ashley Pfister. She’s been married four times.
