Snoop Dogg Makes Anti-LGBT Comments About Movie Representation

Snoop Dogg has made it clear that he is not happy with the amount of LGBT representation that is seen in movies.

Speaking on the It’s Giving podcast, Snoop voiced his opposition to a lesbian relationship appearing in the film, Lightyear.

He said: “Why my grandson in the middle of the movie like, ‘Papa Snoop, how she have a baby with a woman? She a woman.’ I didn’t come here for this shit. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.”

The rap legend continued: “So it’s like, fuck me, I’m scared to go to the movies now. Like, y’all throwing me in the middle of shit that I don’t have an answer for.

“It threw me for a loop,” Snoop said about his grandson’s curiosity. “We have to show that at this age? Like, they’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”

The same sex relationship in the film was a controversial point among conservative groups when Lightyear was released in 2022 with many right wing commentators decrying it.

The film’s star, Chris Evans, hit back at critics in a statement, saying: “Every time there’s been social advancement as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth and that’s what makes us good. There’s always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before. But those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward and embrace the growth that makes us human.”

Snoop has no issue with strip clubs, recently revealing that his wife was running one and he was an enthusiastic supporter.

He explained his backing of the venture: “So what do I do? I say, ‘What the hell is you doing?! I support. I show up. I throw money in the air. You understand what I’m saying? I support you! Because she supported me when I was going through something that I wanted to get off, that I felt like, was fun and was fly.”

Snoop added: “It shocked me that she bought the muthafucka. I was like, ‘A strip club? Oh wow, honey, I’ll support it.’”
