The conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder was fatally shot on Wednesday (Sept. 10), leaving behind his wife and their two young children.

His wife, Erika Frantzve Kirk, often shared glimpses of their family life on social media but chose not to reveal their children’s faces or names.

As of Thursday morning (Sept. 11), Erika has not yet commented publicly on her husband’s death.

Earlier in the day on Wednesday, she shared a Bible verse with her followers. “Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” Erika wrote, just hours before the shooting.

Who is Erika Frantzve Kirk?

According to Erika’s website, she is a “driven social entrepreneur, passionate ministry leader and woman of deep faith.”

A former Miss Arizona USA, she is currently pursuing a doctorate in Biblical Studies at Liberty University. She is also the founder of two nonprofits and a faith-based clothing line called Proclaim, and she hosts a podcast.

According to ABC News, the couple began dating in 2018. They got engaged in 2020 and married in 2021.

Erika celebrated her marriage to Kirk with a social media post, describing him as “a man who loves so deeply, so intentionally, so selflessly, and so unconditionally that it reminds me of Christ.”

Who Are Charlie Kirk’s Children?

Kirk and his wife are parents to a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son.

The couple chose not to reveal identifying details about their kids to the public. He addressed that in a June 2025 episode of his show, saying, “We have a girl and a boy and it’s no one’s business what their names are or their faces.”

Their daughter was born in August 2022.

Last month, Erika celebrated her oldest child’s third birthday with a social media post that included several clips of her daughter’s life so far.

“48 hours of labor. An emergency C-section. A scar that tells a story I would live a thousand times over just to hear that first cry of yours,” Erika wrote. “Celebrating you turning 3 is surreal.”

Kirk’s son was born in May 2024.

This year, he shared a photo to social media celebrating his son’s first birthday.

“He has brought an infinite amount of joy and laughter into our lives,” Kirk wrote in that post. “Being a parent is an incredible gift, made far better because I get to do it alongside [Erika Kirk].”

Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday (Sept. 10.) He was 31 years old.

As of Thursday afternoon (Sept. 11), the shooter remains at large, though multiple persons of interest have been questioned and released by authorities.

People throughout the country and beyond mourned Kirk’s death, including U.S. President Trump, who shared a statement remembering Kirk as a “great, and even legendary” figure in American culture.

Many country stars have shared tributes or expressed condolences to the family Kirk leaves behind.

Among them was Kane Brown, who subsequently shared screenshots of the backlash he faced — from both right and left-leaning followers. Brown shared an emotional video calling for all fans to come together and love each other in the wake of the tragedy.
