‘NSync Celebrate 30th Anniversary: ‘Forever Grateful’

The members of ‘NSync celebrated their “unbreakable bond” with each other, and their fans, on the occasion of their 30th anniversary Wednesday, Oct. 1.

In a post on the official ‘NSync Instagram, Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, J.C. Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick shared a statement that read: “Five guys chasing a dream turned into something bigger than we ever imagined. The music. The shows. The memories. An unbreakable bond: with each other, and with all of you. Through every high and low, your love has carried us. Forever grateful.”

Oct. 1 is recognized as ‘NSync’s anniversary as it’s the day Bass officially joined the group in 1995. Timberlake, Chasez, Fatone, and Kirkpatrick had already started working together, but the departure of original fifth singer, Jason Galasso, paved the way for Bass to join. Just a few weeks after their formation, ‘NSync performed live for the first time, delivering a concert at Walt Disney World on Oct. 22, 1995.

Along with the band’s statement, Bass shared a note of his own on Instagram, along with a slideshow of photos and videos from throughout the band’s run. “What an amazing 30 years it’s been,” he wrote. “From stadiums to TRL to TikTok — it’s wild to think we’ve grown up with you right there beside us.”

He continued: “Feels like just yesterday we were learning choreography in an airplane hangar in Orlando, hoping our frosted tips would help us stand out. (They didn’t, but we committed!) … Thank you for riding with us through every era, every outfit, every questionable video. And to my brothers — thank you for the laughs and the memories I’ll never forget.”

‘NSync were active from 1995 through 2004, releasing four albums and releasing several era-defining Top 10 hits. While the group was largely dormant in the decades after their split, they did reunite in 2023 and 2024 for a few live performances and a new song, “Better Place,” for the animated film, Trolls Band Together.
