After 19 years, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are ending their marriage. News of the couple’s separation first became public on Monday (Sept. 29), with an official divorce filing from Kidman in Davidson County, Tenn., the following day.
When Did Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman Get Married?
The high-profile couple first met in 2005 when they both attended the G-Day USA gala in Los Angeles, Calif. Although it took a few months for their initial spark to turn into a flame, once it caught, it was a raging wildfire.
Kidman confirmed they were engaged in May 2006, and they tied the knot the following month on June 25, 2006.
Do Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman Have Children?
Prior to her marriage to Urban, Kidman was married to fellow actor Tom Cruise for 11 years. The two share two adopted children, Isabella and Connor.
In 2008, Kidman and Urban welcomed their first child, Sunday Rose, and in 2010, their daughter Faith Margaret followed.
According to documents from their divorce, Kidman will have primary custody of Sunday and Faith. They’ll be with their mother Monday through Saturday. Each Sunday and every other weekend they’ll be with their father.

Who “Won” the Divorce — Keith Urban or Nicole Kidman?
While many Hollywood romances end in nasty splits that seem to drag on and on, Urban and Kidman are keeping things simple. Urban signed agreements regarding their children and assets on Aug. 29, 2025, while Kidman signed hers on Sept. 6, 2025.
Both parties will keep those assets that are already in their name, with joint acquisitions being divvied up.
