Haim Tap Bon Iver for Reflective Single ‘Tie You Down’

The duet will appear on the deluxe edition of the rock band’s latest LP, I Quit

Haim have dropped a meditative new song, “Tie You Down,” featuring Bon Iver. The emotionally-wrought track will appear on the deluxe version of the group’s most recent album, I Quit, set to arrive on Oct. 17.

“we had to,” Haim teased on Instagram earlier this week. “new song tie you down with @boniver out TOMORROW. i quit deluxe with three new tracks out NEXT FRIDAY!!”

The track sees Haim sharing vocals with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon: “Put your little heart in me now/ Ain’t this how it’s supposed to be?/ I want you here/ But I don’t know how/ Not to tie you down.”

“Tie You Down” reunites Danielle Haim and Vernon after they teamed up on Bon Iver’s  SABLE, fABLE track “If Only I Could Wait” earlier this year. Frontman Justin Vernon called the song, “A duet. A bilateral crying question. How long can the two of us hang on to each other?” Vernon also co-wrote I Quit single “Everybody’s Trying to Figure Me Out.”
