Nicole Kidman Puts on a Brave Face After Keith Urban Divorce

Nicole Kidman may appear composed in public, but sources say the Hollywood star is still quietly navigating the emotional fallout of her divorce from Keith Urban.

The 58-year-old actress filed for divorce on Sept. 30, 2025 — ending nearly two decades of marriage with the country music icon.

And while she’s moving forward, the heartbreak behind the scenes runs deeper than most people realize.

Doing Her Best to Stay Strong

“In so many respects, Nicole is doing brilliantly,” a source told Star. “She’s been a total pro throughout this, and her number one goal is to stay strong and not crumble — for the sake of her daughters, as well as herself.”

Still, that strength hasn’t come without effort. Insiders noted that she’s been keeping her schedule packed and leaning on close friends to help her stay grounded.

“Keith was the love of her life,” the source continued. “It’s not that simple to just turn those feelings off like a tap. She’s been on autopilot — staying busy, leaning into work, and focusing on the people who lift her up.”

A Return to the Spotlight

Kidman made her first public appearance since the filing earlier this month, attending the amfAR Gala in Dallas.

The actress was in attendance to honor Lioness collaborator Taylor Sheridan — also the creative force behind Yellowstone.

She appeared poised and gracious, but those close to her say it was a brave step forward.

“There’s still a lot of heartache,” the source said. “She’s keeping it together, but everyone close to her knows this is going to take time.”

Inside the Divorce

Kidman and Urban were married in 2006 and share two daughters: Sunday Rose (17) and Faith Margaret (14).

Court documents show Urban signed the divorce papers on Aug. 29, with Kidman following on Sept. 6. The official date of separation was listed as Sept. 30 — the same day the filing became public.

The couple cited “irreconcilable differences” and came to a private agreement that centers their daughters’ well-being.

Terms include:

  • Kidman will have the girls for 306 days per year
  • Urban will have them for 59 days
  • No child support will be exchanged
  • All major decisions will be made jointly
  • Neither parent is allowed to speak negatively about the other

The tone is civil and private — suggesting a shared commitment to stability, despite the heartbreak.

Looking Ahead

The Aquaman star is leaning on her inner circle and returning to work — determined to embrace her next chapter with quiet strength.

“She’s got an incredible support system,” the source added. “And she’s not giving up on joy. She’s just taking it one step at a time.”
