Keith Urban Cancels a Show Due to Laryngitis, Vocal Rest


Keith Urban has canceled an upcoming stop on his High and Alive World Tour

According to WYFF4, the singer is unable to perform his scheduled concert in Greenville, S.C. this Thursday (Oct. 16), due to a bout of laryngitis.

The show’s venue, Bon Secour Wellness Arena, announced the cancellation on social media, explaining that Urban has been placed on complete vocal rest by his doctor.

The singer issued a statement to his fans via the venue.

What Did Keith Urban Say About His Canceled Show?

“I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show,” Urban wrote in that statement.

“I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days, and I’ve never taken any of that, or any of YOU for granted,” he continued. “I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”

The venue advised concertgoers that they’ll receive refunds automatically if they purchased tickets via Ticketmaster.

Those who bought their seats from a third-party seller should reach out to the point of purchase for a refund.

Will Keith Urban Be Able to Perform His Upcoming Show in Nashville?

The post announcing the cancellation also offered some details on Urban’s prognosis from his doctor, Dr. Gaelyn Garrett.

Garrett says that she’s “optimistic” that with vocal rest, Urban will be able to perform his upcoming hometown stop on the High and Alive World Tour as scheduled.

That show is due to take place in Nashville on Friday, Oct. 17.

A Rare Statement From Keith Urban After Divorce News 

Urban’s apology to his fans for missing this shows marks one of the first public statements he’s made since news broke that he and Nicole Kidman are divorcing.

News of the couple’s separation first broke in late September.
