Ruston Kelly is officially off the market!
The country singer-songwriter, 37, revealed he’s engaged to girlfriend Tia Cubelic, sharing the exciting news on Instagram Wednesday (Oct. 15).
And the moment? Couldn’t have been more Nashville.
“Backstage at the @opry last month, me and my best bud became best buds who are getting MARRIED,” Kelly captioned a carousel of engagement photos and a heartfelt video.
The clip — taken from his Sept. 24 Grand Ole Opry performance — shows Kelly pausing mid-set to share the news with the crowd.

“The most important thing I think that happened to me right after that was meeting my now-partner,” he told fans. “And I would say that she’s my girlfriend, but she’s not… because I just proposed to her backstage.”
Cue the cheers — and a few tears — from fans in the audience. “Her family’s here, my family’s here. And right under a picture of Johnny Cash, I had to pop the question,” he added.
A Picture-Perfect Proposal
The couple’s backstage engagement was captured in a series of sweet photos, showing them smiling, embracing, and celebrating with family — while Cubelic flashed her new diamond ring.
A Muse Behind the Music
Kelly is currently on the road supporting his album Pale, Through the Window, which a press release says was deeply inspired by his now-fiancée.

“His new fiancée was a driving force behind each and every track,” the release reads. “Across 13 tracks, Kelly captures a season of radical change, newfound joy, and hard-won peace.”
The album blends shimmering synths, emo-tinged guitars, and pedal steel by his father, Tim “TK” Kelly — a personal project in every sense.
Life After Love
Kelly was previously married to country star Kacey Musgraves. The pair tied the knot in 2017 and quietly divorced in 2020.
Both have since moved forward personally and creatively, with Kelly’s latest chapter marked by love, healing — and now, a brand-new beginning.
