Joy Oladokun Will Play Grand Ole Opry, Sheryl Crow Shares News

Crow “has been the most consistent voice of support and encouragement throughout my career,” Oladokun said

Joy Oladokun is making her Grand Ole Opry debut — and one of her heroes broke the news! On Monday night, Oladokun shared a video of herself finding out from Sheryl Crow that she’ll be performing at the storied Nashville venue for the very first time on Dec. 2.

“Hey Joy, I am sitting here at the Grand Ole Opry. I was just wondering if maybe you would want to do your debut here on December 2nd? Congratulations, you’re gonna be playing here,” Crow says in the video. “And I’m gonna be in the audience.”

The video captures Oladokun smiling at her phone as she receives the news from Crow, who has been supportive of her rise throughout the years.

“I also must say that @sherylcrow has been the most consistent voice of support and encouragement throughout my career. I could go on but I have a feeling I’ll get to share more soon,” Oladokun captioned the post, before adding on her Stories: “Anyone who has kept up with me knows that this is equal parts an honor and a surprise.”

Along with Oladokun, Mexican-American country star Wyatt Flores is also scheduled to perform on Dec. 2.
