Quevedo Drops Album ‘Buenas Noches,’ Video for ‘Kassandra’: LISTEN

On his new album, Quevedo lets his emotions run free. On Thursday, the Spanish trap star released his second album, Buenas Noches, inspired by the late-night reflections of the last few years. He also dropped the video for his single, “Kassandra.”

“This album reflects everything I experience in the quiet hours after midnight when I say goodnight to the world,” Quevedo said in a press release about the LP. “It’s an album that explains my new way of life and everything around me.”

Aside from the single “Duro,” the 18-track LP features all new songs. Among the standout collaborations on the LP are ones with Aitana on “Gran Vía,” Sin Nombre on “14 Febreros,” Rels B on “Los Días Contados,” and Pitbull on “Mr. Moondial.”

“This title isn’t about sleep or the hours of rest but, instead, everything that happens when I say goodnight to everyone else—the 3 a.m. thoughts and conversations, the reflective moments, late-night studio sessions, parties, and all that unfolds once the night truly begins,” he said of the album. “I’m so happy to finally share this with my fans, and I hope they enjoy listening to it as much as I loved creating it.”

Quevedo celebrated the LP by releasing the Velodrome-directed music video for “Kassandra,” which follows a model going through her life — walking the runway, partying, getting a massage, and stretching — as Quevedo sings about her story from the perspective of a normal, fame-less admirer.

“The situations I describe in my songs are usually fictional,” he told El País about the track. “I have been in a relationship for four years, but I do feel reflected in the things I sing about in this song, and in others. In ‘Kassandra,’ I identify with the difference between two worlds.”

The album comes a week after the musician performed his single “Duro,” and his last LP’s standout, “Columbia,” at the 2024 Latin Grammys. (“Columbia” was nominated for Best Urban Song.) He released his debut LP, Donde Quiero Estar, in 2023.
