After singer scrapped two Mexico shows last week, his upcoming five-concert trek in South America also nixed
Days after Morrissey nixed a pair of Mexico shows due to “extreme exhaustion,” the singer has canceled his entire South American tour this month.
After abruptly canceling a Halloween night show in Mexico City and a Nov. 4 gig in Zapopan, Mexico, Morrissey was booked to head to South America for five gigs, with the trek scheduled to begin Nov. 8 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
However, organizers of all five South American shows — Buenos Aires; Sao Paolo, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; Lima, Peru; and Bogota, Colombia — notified fans that due to Morrissey’s “agotamiento extremo.” extreme exhaustion, the shows would no longer take place and fans would be refunded for their tickets.
Morrissey himself hasn’t commented on the cancellation either through social media or his usual mouthpiece fan websites. Fans on the Morrissey-Solo website noted that organizers of the Bogota show cited both singer’s “extreme exhaustion” as well as “the event did not receive the necessary support or audience.”
The singer is next scheduled to perform in Athens in December — though that concert is rumored to be canceled as well — before embarking on a North American tour in January 2026.
Morrissey has become somewhat notorious for canceling or postponing gigs for a wide variety of reasons in recent years; as the Metro UK notes, he has canceled 22 scheduled performances in 2025 alone, with another 10 gigs postponed.
Over the summer, Morrissey canceled his show in Stockholm, Sweden, the day of the concert, citing he had been struggling to secure support from the music industry in order to complete his European trek. In September, he canceled concerts in Boston and Connecticut due to a “credible threat” on his life.
