The behind-the-scenes footage appears in a new clip from the upcoming 50 Cent-produced series, Sean Combs: The Reckoning
A new teaser for the 50 Cent-produced docuseries on Sean “Diddy” Combs has arrived, and it includes behind-the-scenes footage taken just days before the hip-hop mogul’s arrest.
In the opening clip, filmed Sept. 10, 2024, Combs stares out a window at the New York City skyline and takes a phone call from an unnamed person. His knee bouncing as he talks, Combs says, “We have to find somebody that’ll work with us. That has dealt in the dirtiest of dirty business. We’re losing!”
Six days later, Combs was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution. Though he was found not guilty on the more serious charges, he was sentenced to just over four years in prison after being convicted on two prostitution charges.
Sean Combs: The Reckoning is set to dig into not only Combs’ trial, but the events preceding it — including the abuse allegations leveled by his ex, Cassie, and others — and his career as a whole. The rest of the new teaser features a montage of archival footage as someone ruminates in a voiceover about Combs’ various names and identities: “Puffy. Puff Daddy. Diddy. Sean Combs. All of these reincarnations, all those name changes, are attached to really bad deeds.”
Directed by Alexandria Stapleton, The Reckoning will reportedly feature an array of never-before-seen material, including additional footage from the days before Combs’ indictment and arrest, as well as interviews with those who were once in his orbit. The docuseries is set to premiere on Netflix Dec. 2, with four 60-minute episodes. 50 Cent — who’s feuded with Combs over a variety of things throughout the years — served as an executive producer on the project.
