Yellowstone was often known for leaving loose ends. Taylor Sheridan didn’t always wrap up story lines with a perfect bow. It left fans with questions!
Luke Grimes stopped by the studio to promote his new album Red Bird and TV drama series Marshals, and I took that opportunity to have him speak to a big loose end from Yellowstone. Finally, we’re getting some answers!
In Season 2, Ep. 9 of Yellowstone, Kayce and and Dan Jenkins’ security guard Torry slips a bomb in the Beck Brothers plane but it never goes off.

So what ever happened to the bomb?
“He [Taylor Sheridan] did actually write the end of that plot into an episode,” Grimes shares. “Then, a few things happened with the powers that be and we had to change direction in how we did the episode.”
Fans can rest easy knowing that the plot was suppose to have a concluded ending, even though we didn’t get to see it play out on television.
Grimes went on to further elaborate on what was supposed to play out.
“There was a plane crash that was written into an episode, but then we had to sort of pivot,” he begins. “A lot of times people don’t realize what a writer like Taylor is up against. There’s a lot of cooks that try to be in the kitchen. I think Taylor is the greatest of all time when it comes to pivoting and not letting others take his story, but that being said there are some he wasn’t able to finish.”

The hit CBS show premiered on March 1, and you can watch on CBS Sundays at 8PM ET/PT and stream on Paramount+.
The show stars Grimes, Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty and Brecken Merril from Yellowstone, but (so far) not Kelsey Asbille, who played Kayce’s wife Monica.
