The country star was added as a surprise performer on Saturday
Kacey Musgraves has officially been added to the lineup for the second week of Coachella 2026, her first time back to the desert fest since her 2019 performance. The country star is scheduled to perform on Saturday at the Mojave Tent from 3-3:50 p.m.
The singer-songwriter teased her surprise performance on social media earlier in the day. In a playful Instagram video set to her Middle of Nowhere title track, Musgraves captioned, “Somewhere on the way to ★ 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂 ★.”
Musgraves’ upcoming seventh studio album is set to release on May 1 via Lost Highway Records. The 13-song track list features collaborations with Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Billy Strings, and Gregory Alan Isakov. She released its first single, “Dry Spell,” last month. “The bulk of this record was made during the longest single period of my life”, Musgraves said in a previous statement. “I found that for the first time, it actually felt incredible being alone and existing in a space not defined by anyone else. I became fascinated with the concept of liminal space, both geographical and emotional. We don’t linger in these transitional, empty spaces long enough and rush to define where or whatever is next.”
Elsewhere on the internet on Tuesday, Musgraves made headlines after mocking President Donald Trump for posting what appeared to be an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus healing the sick. In a post on X, Musgraves recreated the same image Trump shared, only this time with Dolly Parton as the Christ figure and Musgraves as the ailing patient.
