Pat McAfee’s wife had a surprising reaction after watching him get slammed through a table by Jelly Roll at WrestleMania 42.
Samantha McAfee shared a message on social media the morning after the event, thanking Jelly Roll for the moment while posting a photo of her husband recovering in bed.
“First morning since 2017 babe is completely out of the wrestling business, thanks @jellyroll615,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
A Surprising Reaction
The post caught fans off guard, especially after the brutal moment that saw Pat stretchered out of Allegiant Stadium.

But as it turns out, there was more behind the message than just the wild WrestleMania moment.
The End of the Road
Pat confirmed on The Pat McAfee Show that he’s officially stepping away from wrestling following WrestleMania 42.
“The good news is, the business doesn’t need to be saved after all. And good for them. And for me, I finished my story,” he said.

He went on to reflect on his time in the business, from his early days in the indies to his run in WWE as a commentator, wrestler and referee.
“It’s been a hell of a run. Thank you, wrestling. It was an honor to be over there,” he added.
What Happened at WrestleMania
The moment that sparked it all came during the main event, when Jelly Roll got involved.
After WWE Champion Cody Rhodes threw Pat onto a table, Jelly Roll — whose real name is Jason DeFord — leapt into the air and drove an elbow into his chest, sending both Pat and the table crashing to the ground.
The ESPN host was stretchered out but let fans know he was OK by flashing the crowd a middle finger on the way out.

He later returned to the event wearing a referee’s uniform and a neck brace.
Closing the Chapter
While the moment made headlines, it also marked the end of Pat’s time in wrestling.
And based on Samantha’s reaction, it’s a chapter she seems more than ready to see come to a close.
