Who’s Dating on American Idol?

Brooks Rosser, a 22-year-old from Baltimore, Md., is dating Rae Boyd, a 24-year-old from Frederick, Md. On the show they go by Brooks and Rae respectively, and the relationship has already survived one big obstacle.

Rae was eliminated last week (April 13), but she stuck around to watch her man move on.

“The princess is here to claim her prince,” she said with a little sass when host Ryan Seacrest introduced her following Brooks’ performance.

In all honesty, we should have seen this coming.

There are at least three videos on Rae’s Instagram page of her singing alongside Brooks. There’s a cover of Paramore’s “The Only Exception” and “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez.

There’s also this cover of “Say Something,” originally by a Great Big World.

After the show, both singers posted the same picture of her planting a kiss on his cheek to their Instagram Stories.

Have There Been Other American Idol Couples?

Brooks and Rae are hardly the first romance to take roots throughout the American Idol process. Most famous are Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner, who’d go on to get married after meeting on Season 16.

Season 16 also brought Maddie Poppe and Caleb Lee Hutchinson together, although they’ve since broken up.

Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson also dated Justin Guarini after the show.

“Any two people who are thrown together that much … I’m just sayin’,'” she’d later tell Watch What Happens Live.
