Wedding Guests Shocked After Pastor Calls Bride ‘B-Word’

A bridesmaid on Reddit recalled the shocking moment the officiant left guests stunned during her friend’s wedding ceremony.

She explained the “very sweet couple” had “hired the pastor from [the] husband’s parents’ church” to preside over their ceremony.

“Rehearsal went totally fine. Day of, mid-vows, the pastor said to the groom, ‘And do you [name] take [name] to be your lawfully wedded wife… even when she’s being a b—h?'” the woman wrote.

She noted there was “dead silence” following the derogatory remark, and the comment left the groom’s mother “clearly appalled.”

To keep the ceremony moving forward, the best man had to nudge the stunned groom, who responded, “Yeah, I guess.”

“Fast forward to the end of the vows. The pastor skips the kiss entirely, declares them husband and wife. Excuses them. The music starts. I can see the bride is distraught. I decided to yell, ‘You forgot to kiss her!’ [The] pastor reels it back and declares the first kiss,” the woman continued.

Despite the chaotic ceremony, she added the lovebirds are “still happily married and they’re the cutest family ever.” However, she still feels they “got short changed” on their big day.

In the comments section, users shared their uncomfortable wedding officiant moments.

“At my cousin’s wedding, the minister informed the attendees that she was a virgin… twice. Also one joke about the groom being very excited for the wedding night,” one person wrote.

“We went to a wedding where the officiant spent an uncomfortable amount of time going on and on about how beautiful the bride was, and how she was the most perfect example of womanhood, and he only hoped that the groom was worthy of this beautiful creature, but he had his doubts… When the officiant is pretty much drooling over the bride and insulting the groom, it’s beyond creepy,” another shared.

“I attended a wedding where a large part of the ceremony discussed how important physical attraction was in a marriage and sex was so, so important. The bride was a pregnant 18-year-old,” someone else commented.

Celebrities Who Found Religion

The glitz and glam of fame may appear to be the good life. However, dealing with the trials and tribulations of life all while in the spotlight for the world to see can be a heavy weight to bear. While this is an obstacle all celebrities face, many of our favorite actors, singers and other celebrities have turned to religion to help cope with the pressure of celebrity and find their inner faith.
