Jason Aldean, Brittany Prepared for Trolls Over Their Duet

Jason Aldean recently released his 12th studio album, Songs About Us. One of the songs on the record is a long-awaited duet with his wife, Brittany Aldean, titled “Easier Gone.”

Brittany is a singer herself. She auditioned for Season 11 of American Idol back in 2012, but according to Jason, she had never been in the studio with him until the day that they recorded their duet together.

With the release of his wife’s first recorded vocals comes some vulnerability for Jason and Brittany, as it puts Aldean’s wife into the musical spotlight — something that he is used to, but she is not.

Aldean hung out with me on Taste of Country Nights, where I asked him if it was hard as a husband to have his wife out there leaving her talents vulnerable to online trolls who might not like her singing, or the fact that Jason put her on a song.

Aldean says, “I thought the song turned out great, but as a husband of hers, I want to be a little protective. I’m used to hearing people talk crap or whatever. Some people like it. Some people are never gonna like us, so they talk sh-t or whatever.”

The country hitmaker continued, “With her, it’s like, you kinda wanna protect that a little bit, but on the flip side of it, she’s a pretty strong chick too.”

Aldean wants his fans and haters to know that if you come for Brittany online, she will not cower down to you — and he won’t have to help her, either.

He continues, “I do this a lot, we drop albums or drop songs, and I read comments about whatever — some people love it, some people hate it. I’m just saying my music in general, not that song in particular.”

If you are an Aldean fan, this song is going to make you love him and his wife even more, as you can hear their chemistry together on the record.

If you are an Aldean hater, just know that the couple will not back down if you try to troll them online.
