The Dominican rapper also shared visual inspired by old school Brookyln
Tokischa is turning up the heat for her latest offering. The Dominican rapper joined forces with Argentinian singer and rapper Nathy Peluso for the blistering rap-reggaeton fusion “De Maravisha.”
Right off the bat, Peluso announces she’s “Hannah Montana” before Tokischa boasts about her diamond-studded smile. The Skrillex-produced track showcases the Latin stars’ myriad of talents as they deliver swagger-heavy couplets over a mix of old-school hip-hop beats and reggaeton rhythms. “De Maravisha” was co-written by Tokischa and Peluso.
The pair shared an equally vibrant visual to compliment the braggadocious track. In it, Tokischa and Peluso takeover a Brooklyn basketball court, host a vacay-inspired photoshoot, and dance in the light of a tanning bed.
Directed by Olivia de Camps, a Dominican-American filmmaker from New York, the music video shows Tokischa and Peluso dressed in typical Nineties hip-hop fashion as they remind the world why they’re a dominating duo.
Tokischa first teased the Peluso collaboration on Wednesday. “El amor y admiración q tengo por ella hace años. Es un sueño estar compartiendo una canción contigo Nata,” she wrote in Spanish, which translates to “I’ve had love and admiration for [Nathy] for years. It’s a dream to be sharing a song with you, Nata.”
While Tokischa has yet to release her debut LP, her slew of successful singles have seen her collaborate with some of the biggest stars in Latin music, including Bad Bunny, Rosalia, Arca, and J Balvin. In 2022, she also released a song with Madonna. That same year, she spoke with Rolling Stone: “I want to make an album that has everything that happened to me in it.”
