The actor is currently filming a movie that takes place at the hip-hop festival.
Owen Wilson made a surprise appearance at Rolling Loud over the weekend, popping onstage during Travis Scott‘s headlining set.
The actor showed up right before Scott’s performance of his 2023 track “FE!N,” as Scott invited him to shout into the mic: “I’m feining for more!” Wilson stayed onstage for the song, as seen in videos from the festival. Scott later posted a video of Wilson to his Instagram story, writing: “Made mi day.”
Although Wilson might seem like an unlikely Rolling Loud attendee, he’s actually in the midst of filming a movie called Rolling Loud with comedian Matt Rife. The film, announced last week, is an R-rated father-son comedy set at the annual hip-hop festival and written and directed by Jeremy Garelick.
Deadline confirmed that the movie is inspired by a true story and follows “an overprotective father (Wilson) who makes a bold parenting decision when he sneaks his 13-year-old son into the world’s largest hip-hop music festival, setting off a chaotic adventure with his reckless co-worker (Rife) and an eccentric festival volunteer as they navigate wild crowds, security, and their own family dynamics.”
Rolling Loud, founded by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The three-day festival also included performances by Shaboozey, Playboi Carti, Future, Lil Baby, Don Toliver, Metro Boomin, Lil Yachty, Tyga, and Rick Ross.
Wilson most recently starred in Disney reboot Haunted Mansion and in the finale season of Disney+ series Loki. He wrapped filming on series Rambler & the Birdie Machine, set in the world of professional golf, earlier this year.
