Rihanna Opens Up About Motherhood & Oldest Son’s Adjustment

Rihanna is loving her motherhood era as she grows and learns with her and A$AP Rocky‘s two sons, RZA and Riot.

On Thursday (October 10), Rihanna hit the red carpet for the launch of her Savage x Fenty line in Nordstrom, and spoke to Access Hollywood‘s Scott Evans about her journey as a mom.

“It’s fun, I literally, I enjoy it so much,” Rih gushed. “I am just looking at them and living through them and I’m amazed by every new discovery of theirs, even their boundaries. They’re teaching me how to be their mom as much as I’m teaching them how to be in this world and guide them as best as I can.”

And a for RZA becoming a big brother, he’s enjoying it just as much too!

“The second that his baby brother cries, he’s there,” she said. “He’s running down, he’s actually crying too. He’s worried. He loves him! It’s just hard to share toys and pacifiers.”

Savage x Fenty is now available at select Nordstrom stores and online.

Earlier this week, A$AP Rocky revealed the moment he believes Rihanna fell in love with him – which he says came years before they became an item. In a new W Magazine cover story that was photographed by his superstar girlfriend, the Harlem rapper opened up about their history as a couple.

Rocky said their chemistry was sparked when RiRi agreed to appear in his “Fashion Killa” music video back in 2012, in which they played on-screen lovers.

While being interviewed in his Manhattan apartment, Rocky pointed to a sofa in the room and said: “This is very special because this is the first place she fell in love with me,” while Rihanna reportedly giggled in the background.

He added: “Virgil Abloh shot the music video for ‘Fashion Killa’ in 2012, and that was the same couch where Rihanna and I sat in the first scene. That was that same room.”

Pretty Flacko also described another early encounter with his future baby mother: “It’s a lot of history between us. I was kicked out of this nightclub. They wasn’t giving me no access to it. This is when I’m just starting out, so nobody knows me.

“I was with [designer] Matthew Williams and Virgil. I was getting into it with the bouncers, and she came out. We just locked eyes. She didn’t even know us, but she was like, ‘Yo! Why y’all not letting him in? What’s wrong with you?! Let that man in!’”

Rocky was also asked how he knew Rihanna was the right person to start a family with, to which he responded: “I knew from when we were younger. We both did, I think. So it was only right when we got older. We just kind of reconnected.”

The 35-year-old added that they “reconnected” in “2019, 2020” but they did not go public with their relationship until 2021. The couple later welcomed sons RZA and Riot together — in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
