Megan Thee Stallion ‘Bigger in Texas’ Video Features Houston Legends

Megan Thee Stallion has assembled a pantheon of Houston hip-hop greats in the video for her new song, “Bigger in Texas.”

The new visual lives up to the song’s title as a celebration of the rapper’s home state and hometown, starting with a diamond-encrusted title card that recalls the classic mixtape covers designed by the Houston-based firm, Pen & Pixel. The video also follows Megan as she drives around Houston, visits star jeweler Johnny Dang, and hangs out with fellow local legends like the Geto Boys’ Scarface, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, and Sauce Walka.

“Bigger in Texas” opens Megan: Act II, the newly-expanded edition of the eponymous album Megan released earlier this year. Act II — out today, Oct. 24 — features 13 new tracks, including “Roc Steady” with Flo Milli, “Neva Play” with RM of BTS, “TYG” with Canadian rockers Spiritbox, and a remix of her viral hit “Mamushi” featuring the K-pop group Twice.

Along with dropping Act II, Megan Thee Stallion is gearing up for the release of her upcoming documentary, In Her Words, which is set to premiere Oct. 31 on Prime Video. Directed by Nneka Onuorah, the film will cover Megan’s career so far, offering a look at her monumental rise as well as how she’s navigated fame, grief, and the pressure of being a superstar.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Megan spoke about the film and using it was a way to reflect on a difficult period in her life.

“Through that whole period of my life I was going through some crazy stuff and I feel like a lot of people dehumanized me,” she said. “People were chiming in on my life… So to have my story told by so many people who weren’t me? I thought it was kind of nuts.” She added that she wanted to have control of her story, and for people to know her “not just as Megan Thee Stallion.”
