Halsey celebrated Halloween by bringing her fans through the decades — and playing a rock version of her Badlands favorite, “Colors.” On Thursday night, the singer headlined a performance for Amazon Music Live in Los Angeles, where she performed both songs from The Great Impersonator and reimagined versions of her fan favorites.
The pop star opened the show, dressed as a circus ringmaster, with the live debut of her album’s title track. She took it to the Seventies for the first set of the show, as she performed a soft disco version of her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom track “Bad At Love” and her Fleetwood Mac-inspired “Panic Attack.”
Then came the Eighties, as she performed “Hometown” and Manic‘s “Graveyard” for a new Americana-style rendition while dressed in a t-shirt and denim jeans.
For the Nineties portion of the show, she played “Ego,” a grungy edition of “You Should Be Sad,” and debuted a completely new Nineties rock rendition of “Colors,” with a fresh bridge for the 2015 track.

Halsey ended her show with the 2000s decade as she performed “Walls Could Talk” and her Britney Spears-sampling “Lucky” before she ended her concert with “Without Me.”
“What I didn’t predict is what this song would mean to me and to my career and to so many of us,” Halsey told the crowd of the Manic track. “I’ll tell you what, I didn’t see that one coming. Every time I perform it, I feel like I’m in a dream. No more nightmares, only dreams.”
The performance celebrated her album The Great Impersonator, which Rolling Stone described as her “rawest, darkest” music ever. Halsey also performed shows in New York and Austin over the weekend, where she performed “Roman Holiday” for the first time in five years, and sang “Lonely is the Muse” for the first time ever.
Halsey is the second artist to hit the Amazon Music Live stage this fall. During his live-streamed show last week, Big Sean debuted songs from his new album, Better Me Than You, and welcomed rapper YG and his partner Jhené Aiko onstage. J Balvin is scheduled to perform next Thursday.
