BB Trickz Teams Up with Rusowsky for New Collab ‘Uwu^^’

Rusowsky says he came up with the idea of the playful video after having a dream about BB Trickz trying to feed a baby goat

The new collaboration between Spanish newcomers BB Trickz and Rusowsky happened almost by accident. The two artists had been talking about working together when Rusowsky sent “uwu^^,” a sparse, hazy track that he wasn’t even thinking about releasing. BB Trickz loved it immediately.

“Rus’ team made a mistake and sent us a record that wasn’t supposed to ever come out. It was so beautiful, it made me cry, so I told them that if they didn’t give it a release I was gonna leak it,” BB Trickz explained in a statement.

Instead, they decided to team up and develop the song, making use of Rusowsky’s muted vocals and a quieter side of BB Trickz’s rap abilities. On the song, the two of them sing about getting locked into a complicated love affair. (“And I’m spending hours with her/While my girlfriend is crying,” Rusowsky sings.) BB Tricks steps in with a heartbroken verse about how much the whole thing sucks: “And it hurts a lot more because you’re my friend/Don’t talk to me about love, my heart is cold.”

The video plays with the sillier side of the song. “After BB threatened to leak the track, I had a dream that same night where BB explained to me that her whole persona was pure marketing and that she just wanted her racks to feed her baby goat,” Rusowsky said. That idea ended up being the premise of the music video, which was directed by Roy Viceroy and sees BB cuddling a baby goat. (Rusowsky singing as a sun feels like a hilarious callback to the Teletubbies.)

Both BB Trickz and Rusowsky have seen some major moments this year: Rusowsky had been building buzz in Spain with his Rusia-IDK collective, which includes the artists Ralphie Choo, Drummie, and TRISTAN! In August, he and the rest of the collective signed to Warner Records. Rusowsky is also coming off of the success of “neo roneo” with the Mexican indie trio Latin Mafia and collabs with Judeline. BB Trickz, meanwhile, stole the show when she appeared on the remix of Charli XCX’s Brat hit “Club Classics.”
