Nick Lachey Admits He Has ‘Scars’ From Jessica Simpson Divorce

Nick Lachey still has some battle wounds from his relationship with Jessica Simpson.

>On a recent episode of Netflix’s dating series The Ultimatum, the former 98 Degrees member took a moment to connect with one of the contestants and opened up about his split from the “With You” singer. 

“I, too, was previously married, divorced, so I understand the hurt, the scars that exist from that,” he said while discussing their fear of getting married.

The Love Is Blind host noted that it wasn’t until he met his current wife, Vanessa Lachey, that he learned to trust his heart again after a failed marriage.

“What I truly always wanted in my life, which was to have a beautiful marriage and a beautiful family, if I hadn’t retained my belief in that, I wouldn’t have ever realized the beautiful life I have with this woman,” the 51-year-old confessed on Season 3 of The Ultimatum, now streaming on Netflix.

Nick and Simpson met in 1998 and were married from 2002 to 2006.

After getting hitched, the former flames’ relationship played out on the MTV reality series, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica.

Following his split from the shoe designer, Nick met Vanessa, and the two tied the knot five years later.

The co-hosts share three kids: Camden John, 12, Brooklyn Elisabeth, 9, and Phoenix Robert, 7.

Simpson married former athlete Eric Johnson in 2014, and they have three children: Maxwell Drew, 12, Ace Knute, 11, and Birdie Mae, 5.
