The rapper previously teased the single in the video for his recent release “Him All Along”
Gunna isn’t easing up just because it’s the end of the year. The rapper has shared his latest single, “Got Damn,” an ode to his jet-setting lifestyle and his gratitude for the perks that come with it.
“Everyday locked in I make M’s off my voice,” Gunna raps on the record. “I know how to win, get you in on the source/Head up with my chin up I ain’t got no other choice/Had to cut my jeans, look like new Loewe jorts.”
Gunna first previewed “Got Damn” in October when he shared the recent release “Him All Along.” A snippet of the song was placed at the end of the music video for the single. It arrives with production from collaborators Aviator Keyz, Bloublood, J Kari, and Timpani Beatz.
Earlier this year, Gunna released One of Wun as his first studio album in just under one year. The record was followed by a string of one-off singles and collaborations, including “Tiffany” with IDK and “Style Rare” with Offset. The rapper also joined Tyla on the viral hit “Jump” from the South African musician’s self-titled debut album.
The reflective gratitude of “Got Damn” feels connected to Gunna’s recent philanthropic efforts. In November, the Atlanta native hosted his first in-person charity event since being released from jail in connection to the sprawling YSL racketeering trial. The event, Fall Family Fest, was held in celebration of South Fulton, where he pledged to provide 30 families with a guaranteed monthly income of $1,000 for one year in partnership with the Black Music Action Coalition.
“This is something I’ve been doing, something I’ll continue to do just out the kindness of my heart,” Gunna said at the gathering. “We all can do it — all the little homies in here that look up and see it, you can do it too. That’s what it’s about. I just want to appreciate everyone coming out and supporting the Southside. All the kids, y’all have some fun. Let’s go up.”
