Eminem Is Down for a 50 Cent Joint Album: ‘That Would Be Great’

The two rap stars recently linked up on Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s album Missionary

Eminem and 50 Cent recently linked up thanks to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s album Missionary — and now, Slim Shady is open to doing a full project with 50. In an interview on DJ Whoo Kidd’s Whoo’s House Podcast, Eminem said he’d be interested in collaborating with 50 to recreate the magic of “Patiently Waiting,” but on a full album more than 20 years later.

“That would be great,” Eminem said. “We just gotta stop bullshitting and just do it.”

“I would never say it’s not possible, shit,” Eminem added.

50 and Eminem collaborated in 2003 on “Patiently Waiting,” the standout of 50’s 2003 classic album, Get Rich or Die Tryin‘. (They also linked up on that album’s “Don’t Push Me.”)

“I had just enough to know a tempo and the feel of it, and words just came out,” 50 Cent previously said of writing “Patiently Waiting” to the beat Eminem had sent. “I hadn’t planned to be on the song yet. I just wanted to hear him do something to it,” Eminem added.

Despite not being released as a single, “Patiently Waiting” was one of the hits from 50’s album, which included “In Da Club,” “P.I.M.P,” and “21 Questions” with Nate Dogg.

“I’ve been celebrating the same thing for 20 years,” he told Rolling Stone last year to celebrate 20 years of the LP. “It’s exciting to reach the 20-year mark in anything when hip-hop is a youth culture, out with the old, in with the new. So it means more that you’re able to stick around and be able to sustain relevance.”

While 50 has released little music of his own over the last few years, the musician is set to host a six-show residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas starting this weekend. Meanwhile, Eminem dropped the album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) over the summer.
