The Weeknd Drops New Spotify ‘Billions Club’ Concert Film

Last month, the Weeknd took the stage in a former aircraft hangar in Los Angeles for a special concert celebrating a major achievement: Having more songs with more than a billion streams on Spotify than any other artist (25 to be precise). And now that show is available to watch in full on the streaming platform, starting today Jan. 7.

Billions Club Live With The Weeknd: A Concert Film captures the nearly 50-minute show, which the Weeknd performed for about 1,700 dedicated fans. The set list features a career-spanning set of hits from across the Weeknd’s catalog, especially those that are part of the Spotify “Billions Club,” including “The Hills,” “Blinding Lights,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” “I Feel It Coming,” and “Starboy.”

The Weeknd also played a few of his new singles, “Timeless” and “Sao Paolo.” And the special is interspersed with new voice-over narration from the musician as he discusses some of the biggest moments and transformations in his career, and thanks his fans around the world. 

Along with releasing the new concert film, the Weeknd is gearing up for the release of his eagerly-anticipated new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which Abel Tesfaye has said will be his last under the Weeknd moniker. The album is slated to arrive Jan. 24 and will conclude the trilogy that began with 2020’s After Hours and continued with 2022’s Dawn FM. 

The Weeknd will celebrate the new album’s arrival with a special one-night only show at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California on Jan. 25. Tesfaye is also set to star in a companion film, also titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, which is set to arrive in theaters on May 16. The movie was directed by Trey Edward Shults and will also star Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan.
