The country musician also released a music video for his song “Guilty” alongside his new LP
Teddy Swims stopped by The Tonight Show to perform his recent single, “Bad Dreams.” Appearing with a live band and several back-up singers, the musician gave the soulful tune an impassioned performance, complete with a dapper white suit.
“Bad Dreams” comes off the singer’s new album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2), out today. The LP features collaborations with Giveon, Muni Long, Coco Jones, and GloRilla, and follows Swims’ 2023 effort, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1). Along with the album, Swims shared a music video for “Guilty,” set in a glitzy bar.
“This album is a continuation of Part 1,” Swims shared in a statement. “I’ve been evolving, growing, and healing in so many ways since the first one! On the last album, I felt as if it just left you with so much heartbreak and no resolve. Of course, there is still heartbreak on Part 2, but I believe we’ve given just a little more closure this time around!”
Last month, Swims teamed up with Quavo and Luke Bryan for “Georgia Ways,” a genre-bending anthem that celebrates the musicians’ home of Georgia and honors how the state shaped their careers.
Swims is up for Best New Artist at the Grammys this year. He was in Barcelona preparing to go onstage at the Los 40 Music Awards when he heard the news. He told Rolling Stone that the first person he called was his father, who had encouraged him to drop out of cosmetology school at 19 and pursue his musical dreams. “I didn’t cry until he started crying,” Swims said. “It was such a beautiful moment to have shared that with him. The biggest win at the end of the day for me is my dad being like, ‘Son, look what you did, bud.’ I could cry talking about it now. I’m so proud and grateful.”
