The FDA has issued a major recall of around 20,000 cases of milk that were packaged and sold in America.
According to AllRecipes.com, Colorado-based Horizon Organic Dairy, LLC is recalling 19,688 total cases of milk products due to the “potential for premature product spoilage during shelf life.”
Here is where it gets a little scary. The FDA has certain classes of recalls, based on the danger the product could cause, and this comes in at a Class II recall level.
A Class II recall level for the FDA is the second worst, and means the situation is pretty dire.
According to FDA.gov, a Class II recall level applies when the product “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
In December of 2024, CVS pharmacy issued a voluntary recall of Horizon milk when they discovered a similar problem with some of the cartons delivered to them.
Now, it seems to have caught the eye of Horizon themselves, as well as the FDA, as the recall has been stepped up to a Class II and includes all retailers in California, Nevada and Arizona.
Here are some things you can look for on the label of Horizon milk cartons to know if they fall under the recall.

It’s important to note that while CVS issued their voluntary recall and told their customers to return the product to them for a full refund, in this mandatory recall, no instructions were given as to what to do with your product if you have it.

Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, owned a 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 2-half-bathroom home in an affluent Nashville suburb called Brentwood.
