Chilean reggaeton star teases “continuation” to video’s action-packed storyline
FloyyMenor is stretching his acting chops in the storyline-starting music video for “Tú Me Calientas,” which dropped Thursday night.
The Michael Joseph-directed video opens with a suspicious man on a payphone hiring a killer to locate and end FloyyMenor. The story then jumps to show Floyy and Gaby Music, who’s featured on the song, cruising beachside in Miami and pulling up to a mansion with a pair of hotties, before chaos erupts.
While on a double-date dinner at the house, the Chilean star’s security cameras go off as the hitmen surround them. Gaby and Floyy get into a shootout with the hired killers before escaping and watching as their mansion burns down.
“Acting has always caught my attention, and this time, with Gaby Music, we fully embraced the role and killed it,” FloyyMenor tells Rolling Stone. “Working with Gaby Music has been a great experience.”
“Filming the video was a lot of fun, and it’s a continuation of the story that I’m excited for all the fans to see,” Floyy adds.
The new track comes a year after FloyMenor released the biggest reggaetón song of the year, “Gata Only,” with Cris MJ. “I wrote ‘Gata Only’ about a year and a half ago, at the time I was missing my significant other, that inspired me to write,” Floyy told Rolling Stone of the song last year. “It was the first time I tried something more commercial. Before that, I was focused on malianteo and I wasn’t sure when would be the right time to release it or if fans would like it.”
“Tú Me Calientas” marks FloyyMenor’s third release of the year after dropping “Bayamón” with ATM Yamil and “Sola” with Nickoog Clk last month. Led by “Gata Only,” Floyy released his debut album El Comienzo in August 2024.
