Lucy Dacus is opening the doors to her own music museum as she reveals the track list for her forthcoming studio album Forever Is a Feeling, out March 28. On Instagram, the singer-songwriter shared the song titles for the 13-track project alongside intricate sketches reflecting the prevailing theme of each.
For “Bullseyes,” Dacus’ upcoming collaboration with Hozier, the sketch depicts a simple bow and arrow. “Come Out” is paired with a megaphone, while “Forever Is a Feeling” is represented by a bracelet adorned with charms of a clock, tea cup, globe, church, infinity sign, violin, rotary phone, and more. Two theater chairs are matched with “For Keeps,” and three portraits of a woman with long hair and shaded cheeks are matched with “Modigliani.”
The next single from the album, “Talk,” is paired with a scythe and a few blood splatters on the page. The record will arrive on Wednesday, March 12, at 12 p.m. EST. It follows the previously released singles “Limerence,” “Ankles,” and “Best Guess.”
The sketches were created by Los Angeles-based artist Nicole Jaclyn Smith, who previously tattooed a rope and ribbon on Dacus’ arms.
In February, Dacus performed songs from Forever Is a Feeling at museums and churches in Brooklyn, Chicago, and San Fransisco. The performances marked her first on her own since touring with Boygenius — the supergroup she formed with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker — for most of 2023.
Forever Is a Feeling follows the 2021 release of Dacus’ most recent studio album, Home Video. “The moments where I have felt in ‘forever,’ in the way you feel in love, ring on in my life, and have changed me,” the musician recently told Rolling Stone about the meaning of the title. “So they have an effect, even though that exact moment couldn’t last forever.
