Pop Star to End Farewell Tour

Cyndi Lauper has announced the final leg of her “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” farewell tour, which will kick off this summer.

The 25-date trek will start July 15 at the Darien Lake Amphitheater in Buffalo, New York and wrap with a two-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Aug. 29 and 30. Pop singer-songwriter Jake Wesley Rogers will provide support throughout the run.

Tickets for the final leg of Lauper’s tour will go on sale March 14 at 10 a.m. local time. An artist presale is scheduled to begin tomorrow, March 11, at 10 a.m. local time, with full info available on Lauper’s website

Lauper launched the “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” tour last year, with the run not only marking her first major trek in over a decade, but also her last. In an interview with Rolling Stone last fall, Lauper said of the trek, “Oh gosh, it’s a bucket list. I haven’t done an arena tour since ‘86. I’m excited because I get to have all these fantastic young women on tour with me. So many years, I was told I can’t do a women’s tour because nobody will go see it. ‘Women don’t sell like men sell.’ Then I toured with Cher and we played for a million people. So bullshit.”

Along with launching her farewell tour in 2024, Lauper appeared in a new career retrospective documentary, Let the Canary Sing. Earlier this year, she was nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside acts like Mariah Carey, Phish, Outkast, Oasis, and Joy Division/New Order. The inductees will be announced in late April.
