Playboi Carti Drops ‘Music’ Deluxe Edition With Four More Tracks

The four additional tracks are loose singles Carti shared over the past few years, but never received a full streaming release

In case 30 new songs wasn’t enough, Playboi Carti has added four more to the new deluxe edition of his latest album, Music – Sorry 4 Da Wait, out today March 25.

The four additional tracks aren’t exactly new, though their arrival on Sorry 4 Da Wait makes them widely available on streaming for the first time. “Different Day,” for example, was first released way back in December 2023, and actually marked Carti’s first solo offering since his 2020 album Whole Lotta Red. Prior to being included on Sorry 4 Da Wait, it appeared on Music – V1, one of three digital download versions of the album for sale on Carti’s website.

Similarly, “2024” was released in 2023, while “Backr00ms” featuring Travis Scott dropped at the top of 2024; both of those songs appeared on Music – V2. Playboi Carti teased the last additional Sorry 4 Da Wait track, “FOMDJ,” at a couple of live performances last year, but the studio version didn’t officially arrive until it was included Music – V3

Trending Stories

The arrival of Sorry 4 Da Wait also coincides with the news that Playboi Carti made Billboard chart history with Music. The album is not only his second Number One album on the Billboard 200, but all 30 tracks from the LP debuted on the Hot 100, making Carti the first rapper in history to place 30 or more songs on the chart simultaneously. The only other artists to achieve that feat are Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen.

In fact, Carti actually has 31 songs on the Hot 100 currently thanks to his collaboration with the Weeknd, “Timeless.” But even if “Timeless,” the four additional Sorry 4 Da Wait tracks, and the original 30 Music songs remain on the Hot 100 next week, it won’t be enough for Carti to secure the record for most songs simultaneously on the chart: His total would be 35, just below Wallen’s record of 36, set back in 2023.
